The artwork of Rainbow Mario
Rainbow Mario is the second form Mario has access to (however is always hidden) and can be first found first in the Good Egg Galaxy. Rainbow Mario is obtained once a Rainbow Star is found. Rainbow Mario is invunerable, meaning he can't be harmed by enemies or other hazards, but will die if he falls into a Black Hole. Rainbow Mario will transform back to normal Mario once the time runs out. It also returned in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and is first found in the Sky Station Galaxy. Unlike the first game, mario will not actually become rainbow, instead remaining red while his trail is rainbow.
