Bowser's Dark Matter Plant

The Bowser's Dark Matter Plant galaxy from the dome

Bowser's Dark Matter Plant is a boss galaxy found in the bedroom of Super Mario Galaxy. It is filled with Dark Matter. Like its counterpart in Super Mario Galaxy 2, it involves Gravity changes.

Mario can only access this galaxy when he gets 33 Power Stars, including the Grand Stars in Bowser Jr.'s Robot Reactor, Bowser's Star Reactor, and Bowser Jr.'s Airship Armada.

Missions[]

There is only one mission in this Galaxy: Darkness On The Horizon.

Basically, Mario must make his way to the core of the galaxy while avoiding the Dark Matter which can destroy him utterly. At the end is Bowser, already beginning the next phase of his plan. The two face off, but Mario is able to beat Bowser with his powers. Sensing that his adversary is powerful, Bowser retreats to his Galaxy Reactor in order to gain more power.

Planets[]

Bowser's Dark Matter Castle[]

Starting Area[]

Mario and his friends start off by some deadly dark blue water that they must not touch.

Rotating Platforms Corridor[]

After they get past the first section, Mario and co. must head to the gravity wall.

Gravity Wall 1[]

Mario and his friends must make their way to the upper-right corner while avoiding the Dark Matter in the first section and riding platforms.

Dark Matter Holes[]

This area has spatial holes that can render objects insubstantial, though living creatures and objects on someone's person are apparently unaffected. The holes can be easily identified by their cyan colour.

Gravity Wall 2[]

Similar to Gravity Wall 1, but the Dark Matter is much more common. It crumbles after Mario and co. reach the Stairway.

Stairway and Ending Area[]

While making their way to Bowser, Mario and his friends must climb this curved staircase. Setting foot on this area will cause the Gravity Wall 2 area to collapse.

Dark Matter Reactor[]

This planet is where the Dark Matter is created. Mario and Bowser square off on this planet.
